Mission
“Training should be fun, challenging and something to look forward to”
Kick-ass (kik ‘as’)
adjective
- Having a strong effect on someone or something; forceful; powerful
- Exceptionally good; spectacular, impressive, amazing, totally sweet, great…
I created this website out of frustration that I didn’t like what I saw at commercial gyms while travelling around the country and out of annoyance of the bogus workouts and fad diets that you see in glossy magazines. So if you’re looking for a juice bar, a sauna, a Jacuzzi, flat-screen televisions on treadmills or lines of fancy weight machines in front of full-body mirrors, then my training is not the place for you. And what have these gyms really done for you? The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
Kick Ass Fitness sees through the facade of the fitness ‘industry’; the isolated training, both muscular and socially; on machines and games console training – what is all that about? It sees through the facade of training for the significance of appearance and the dependence on others for healing our pains through drugs, supplements or other dependency forms.
It’s time for something different and more tangible.
It’s time to focus on the journey, not the destination.
My training involves exercising the whole body as one unit and enables people to experience how the human body truly functions. Your muscles will learn how to work together in harmony instead of being all aloof and separated from each other. This is often completely neglected in the modern gym environment and we are less human for it. Exercises will go back to the roots of nature and include natural exercises such jumping, crawling, climbing, rolling and reacting; increasing your energy levels, improving your motor skills and achieving success in life and in any sport imaginable.
Your fitness will not be restricted by simply walking through a door and stepping on to some machine that will isolate your muscle movements and restrict you. Instead it’s about functional fitness and the recruitment of the whole body to create a dynamic response. I also help with the psychological barriers that are often faced at varying stages of an exercise regime.
Participants are empowered to constantly progress using anything from kettlebells and medicine balls to literally beating a tractor tyre with a sledgehammer, which is great fun – especially after a day’s work. You can also use nothing but your own body weight, from exercises such as push-ups and pull-ups to ring dips and inverted body rows.
Training involves the continued and enjoyable practice of perfecting these movement skills and produces strong and highly skilled athletes and individuals.
Move naturally, focus on technical proficiency
and become life-fit in the process
Sick of the same old routine? Kick Ass Fitness personal training sessions are fun, intense, structured and constantly progressed to achieve your fitness and lifestyle goals, despite the challenge of limited time. You will be encouraged to be fit, strong and healthy, building useable skills and long lasting confidence.
The difficulty lies not so much in developing new ideas but in escaping from the old ones!

Nutrition and fitness are daily choices. If you make them consistently positive, you’ll earn health rewards along the way. Getting ripped is not the finality, but the natural outcome of a lifestyle that combines proper movement, proper nutrition and proper sleep.
Equipment
All the equipment used is portable, so you can train at home or the local park. You can purchase equipment from my on line web store and I can help you set up your own home ’gym’. As well as your body, these will be your tools for life long health and fitness.
You don’t need to join a gym, you will rarely require training shoes, and it can be done almost anywhere at any time with minimal equipment.
It’s time you made a choice. Stick with the traditional hours of boring, never ending cardio in the “fat burning zone” and bicep curls in front of a mirror and get minimal health and fitness benefits. Or, try something different, up the intensity of your workouts, throw away all your ‘diet’ books and get into the best shape of your life. Your body and mind will love it, I promise you.
